[caption id="attachment_2556" align="alignleft" width="225"] North Country Unfading Black slate, 3/16"[/caption] The most common thickness is ¼” and weighs approximately 935 pounds per square when installed with a 3” headlap.  Some quarries such as Glendyne, which produces our North Country Unfading Black slate can be split consistently and sold 3/16”, ¼”, 3/8” and ½”.
Alderson Train Depot – Alderson, West Virginia

North Country Slate recently supplied our unfading black roofing slate for the Alderson Train Depot restoration project. Originally built in one week by the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway (C & O) in 1896, it is very similar to the other C & O depots built between 1890 to 1914.
McGill University (Montreal, Quebec, Canada)

McGill University is the oldest in Montreal. Founded in 1821 thanks to the generous bequest of prominent Scottish merchant, James McGill, who drafted a petition in 1787 to improve Montreal’s education system. In 1884 women were allowed to attend classes at the university.
